PEnGUIn Encoder MP4 0.98b2 was Released

Thanks to Zhi's help. Now we know that newer x264 would cause some problems when importing the mp4 to iphone or ipod touch. The newer 0.98b2 has addressed this error. Please take a look!!

Hi La'fear, thank you for this amazing app and I can convert all my TV series and animes to my touch. I have one small problem: the screen of iPhone and iPod touch is 480x320 but in the preset only 480x360 is offered so that either a custom setting is made or the video is stretched and two vertical black bars are seen on the left and right side of the screen. Thanks again for your great work!

HI!! Allen...
After select the option "480x360", you still can overwrite the left parameters, for example, "320". No need to pickup custom settings. However, I will collect more advice. Maybe next release will change to "480x320" if most users think it would be better. Thanks!!

HI~
Hmm, it's the first time I heart that. How about change the file name, make it shorter, or initiate the disk utility to check the disk integrity?? Any feedback is welcome, thanks!!

Hi, I can't find the link to download mp4box for OsX on PowerPC.

The wide screen video in iPhone should be 640x360 right? way don't you put this option into program? Just for curious.
And in my mac, there always output .264 and .aac files and no mp4 file. I've already tried to to the operation in a new user account, and the results are the same.
I've install FFMpegX, can this cause the problem? but if FFMpegX do some change in system files, how can I remove those change in order to use PEnGUIn?
And here is some suggestion: please put the divx in mp4 container feature back to program, H264 encoding cost lots of time, and some device just can't handle h264(such like Nokia X5800, can take MPEG4 up to 640*480, but only 320*240 in H264). In some condition, I'm sure the users won't mind a larger file size but save lots of time.
Thanks for your great great software, we'll need more people like you to make Mac community better and better.

Hi, La'fear, thank you for this amazing application, it is the best in converting rm under osx.

I have recently upgrade to Snow Leopard, and now I cannot get PEnGUIn Encoder to work under 10.6

I keep having the binary install box popping up despite having install the binary package multiple times.

Do you have any idea of how I can get it to work?

Thank you.

hey,I encounter the same problem as Jason which the output is alwasy xxx.264 and .aac files and no mp4 file. Please help!!

Hi~

To Arthur:
It seems that there are some default binaries paths have been changed after the snow leopard, but don't know why some people have similar situation, some are not. Owing to I still don't have machine with 10.6 setup, thus I put a special experimenet edition by following link. There is no obvious change in this edition comparing to 0.98b2, I just disable the binaries check. Anyway, please take a trial, thanks a lot!!

It looks like mp4 muxer didn't work properly. I put a rosetta version here. The muxing speed will be slower but I wish it works!!

Btw, I just browsed other forum. And the problems would be that you don't have admin permission for your account. Apple changed their permission polcy in file access after 10.6. You can also try to lift up your account to admin priviledge. Thanks a lot!!

Hi, Sa~
Can you describe more detail, your hardware and your video file format. And maybe you can change your file name and see if it works first~
Thanks!
